As I’m waiting for the 968 bus that takes me back to Yuen Long, the title of this blog post “A Forced Pause?” was the first thing on my mind. “Corona…” nah. Okay, it was the second thing on my mind. I still have around 12 minutes until the bus comes.

Can’t believe it has been 5 months since I moved to Hong Kong. It’s been a couple months of growth, facing challenges, transitioning, making Hong Kong my home. I’ll just show you my highlights of all these 5 months!

The heart of the following days was to encourage, lift up the church and share testimonies of God’s faithfulness. When the whole nation is facing shortages of electricity, water, food, many economic difficulties, it’s easy to give up.

Sometimes it can be hard to wait. But waiting doesn’t mean you sit back and do nothing. Honestly, I’ve had days where I’ve just been at home resting. The time as I wait for the next transition is important, but it’s also important to be intentional in the present.

Sometimes it’s hard to dream because many say “there is no future in your country” but God is not limited in his plans for us!

Worship before evangelism is also key, to open the space for the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts and to guide us to the people God wants us to meet. I had never done evangelism this way before, I would just trust my own intuition and share the gospel, without really caring for the person’s story or background.

The weekend of week 2 was so much fun! On Saturday, we journaled at local coffee shop, but it was way too loud. Too many kids around! At night, we took the girls to Mongkok to try some street food!

After a great weekend enjoying company with the girls and also sending off my mom at the bus stop at Tsim Sha Tsui, Jackie and I head back to the base for a new week. The topic for the week was “Worship, Intercession and Hearing God’s Voice.”

One of Hong Kong’s strongest typhoon hit two days before I officially moved into YWAM Harbor City’s base. On Saturday, my leaders Cheryl and Barjona picked my sister and I at the apartment where I had been staying since July. We were able to get to know each other for a bit while bringing our luggages into the base. I met Ashley from Ohio, one of the DTS students.
